The province’s chief medical officer of health is clarifying some of the dos and don’ts for the 20 for 2020 public health guidance.

Despite repeated messages about the holiday rule, confusion remains in the public’s mind as to what the exact expectations are.

Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says 20 for 2020 means reducing your total number of close contacts over the holiday season to no more than 20 people.

She explains that you’ll want to be seeing the same 20 people over the holiday period. By doing that, if someone gets sick with COVID-19 you’ll know who your contacts are and contact tracing will be much easier.
