For the second day in a row, Newfoundland and Labrador is reporting four new cases of COVID-19.

Two of the cases involve men in their 40s in the Eastern Health region and both travelled to the province from Alberta. One man is a resident of Newfoundland and Labrador while the other is from Alberta.

Officials say both men are close contacts of a previous known travel case. They are said to be self-isolating and contact tracing is underway.

The third new confirmed case is a man in his 60s in the Central Health region. The case is travel-related and the man, a resident of the province, recently returned from work in Alberta. He is self-isolating and contact tracing is underway.

The fourth new case is another man in the Central Health region between 20 and 39 years old. The resident of Newfoundland and Labrador is a close contact of a previous known case, the person is self-isolating and contact tracing is underway.

Meanwhile, health officials still don’t know the source of a case announced Saturday in the Central Health region. They say they’ll provide an update once they have more information.

Newfoundland and Labrador now has 30 active cases of COVID-19, with no one currently hospitalized due to the virus.
