2020 has been a very difficult year for a variety of sectors in the province.

Oil and gas, restaurants, hospitality and tourism were all hard hit.

So were local musicians and performers.

Rhonda Tulk-Lane took on the position of Executive Director of Music NL at was has been the toughest time faced by the industry. She says COVID measures that shut some businesses down had a devastating impact on performers.

They simply weren’t able to work says Tulk-Lane.

Tulk-Lane says despite that, MusicNL has found a way to take the downtime and turn it into an opportunity.

Right now, every musician is on a level playing field says Tulk-Lane. That raises opportunities in how to help market local talent to the world.
