The Prime Minister says every Canadian who wishes to be vaccinated for COVID-19 will be able to do so by September.

PM Justin Trudeau says half a million doses have been given to the provinces and territories and by the end of January, that number will have doubled.

He says the pandemic will end, but everyone has work to do and now is not the time to vacation abroad.

Trudeau says government has been very clear that no one should be vacationing abroad right now. He says if you do decide to travel at your own risk, you need to have a negative COVID-19 test before returning and will need to self-isolate for 14 days. Trudeau says Canadians need to take this seriously. He says those who break the rules could see fines or prison time.

Trudeau also stressed that the Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit is not meant to go to the hands of someone who is vacationing abroad. That money is meant for a worker, such as one who toils in the grocery sector, who has symptoms or has to quarantine for 14 days because they may have come into contact with someone who tested positive.
